“Das Ross” is a dance solo created by Mariane Verbecq in 2024. The creation of this work echoes the riots of June 2023 in France, triggered by the death of Nahel Merzouk following police violence. This solo aims to resonate with all forms of oppression experienced, both individually and collectively.
MARIANE VERBECQ
Mariane Verbecq is a graduate of the Folkwang University of the Arts (DE). She has been a professional dancer since 2018. She danced for 3 years with Folkwang Tanzstudio.Since 2021, Mariane has been working as a freelance dancer for national and international projects. She has also worked as a choreographer on collaborative projects. She also creates her own work. In 2022, Mariane began training in Butoh, which influenced the solo “Das Ross”.
